On Clearance: Offroad Canisters from tekhnokhim
Our canister range from tekhnokhim made us proud for a long time and gave many of you great joy. We regularly love seeing Instagram posts and stories showing travel vehicles equipped with these almost indestructible, valuable little helpers.
What Has Changed
tekhnokhim is a Russian production. While products from Russia were long valued for their pragmatic robustness without frills, they are now viewed with great ambivalence because of current events.
Without wanting to pass judgment on whether one should boycott Russia as a whole or keep supporting individual families and businesses, because you should never put all people into one (national) box, the decision is almost made for us.
Increasingly, supply difficulties are making life hard not only for us. The manufacturer itself has also found it a problem to obtain high-quality material for its production – material that we owe you under our quality promise.
Whatever one’s view of Russia and of sourcing products from that country: we are not willing to make compromises that directly affect our customers, YOU!
For these reasons we decided to bring a new partner on board.
We’re Pleased to Introduce: Overland Fuel
With Overland Fuel we have a new partner who is completely dedicated to water and fuel canisters of the highest quality and robustness.
The range is made to the highest standards and also offers some special treats that you have long wished for from our canister range.
Quality – Made in Europe
Overland Fuel is a company based in the Netherlands. Here, products are made to European quality standards using rotational molding on modern machines. Every single canister leaves production only after thorough inspection.
A patented, TÜV-tested material, processed with extra-thick walls, makes the fuel canisters ready for many years of use under extreme conditions.
The water canisters benefit from a choice of material that complies with EU Commission Regulation No. 10/2011 of 14 January 2011 on “plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food”.
High-Quality Accessories
The mounting accessories from Overland Fuel are made of CNC-milled, hardened aluminum, anodized in various colors.
With this range we can finally meet your wish for lockable canister mounts. An anti-drill lock makes sure your canisters stay right where they belong! Of course, a cheaper, non-lockable variant can still be used as well.
To make all parts as reliable as possible for years of use, even the screw caps for closing and securing the pouring spout are made of aluminum. You can rely on this thread!
Short Transport Routes
Besides the high bar set for the manufacturing quality of our new canister range, we are also glad that buying these products avoids long transport routes.
Without shipping from the Far East, for instance, we keep better control over transport times and at the same time do something to reduce our CO2 emissions.

All overlanders who have ever stood in front of one of those “gas stations” selling fuel in old drinking water jugs will cheer:
New, and a MUST-HAVE for trips to regions with such questionable fuel quality, we now have the Overland Fuel fuel filter for manual refueling, with filtering of impurities and water out of the fuel!
tekhnokhim and Overland Fuel – Compatible?
The mounting systems of tekhnokhim and Overland Fuel canisters are different and unfortunately not compatible. If you already have tekhnokhim canisters installed and want to add more canisters, a separate mounting system is required.
And the Price?
Making products with high quality assurance standards in Europe and with European wages has its price – we hear that from all sides every day, and it’s true.
Our Overland Fuel canister range is also a little more expensive than its predecessors from Russia, even though those were just as good and durable thanks to the manufacturer’s quality assurance (and our own).
Given the changed situation and the really great products from Overland Fuel, we can stand behind the new price with a clear conscience, and (as always) warmly invite you to treat yourself to high-quality products that accompany you for a lifetime, instead of buying new ones after a while – and so paying twice.
