Additional Bypass Diode for More Solar Yield With Partial Shading

With tigerexped’s own products, we put the greatest value on top quality and the best technology. That is why we will keep improving them. Our black tiger solar modules therefore now come with an additional bypass diode.

What Are Bypass Diodes in Solar Modules Good For

Two situations often hurt the solar yield of the entire module, even though in reality they only affect a tiny area of it:

  1. When the module gets a bit of shade (i.e. partial shading),
  2. when a cell or a small area of cells is damaged (e.g. invisible cracks from vibration while driving, or hail or branch impacts).

Bypass diodes, in combination with clever wiring, ensure that the unaffected areas of the solar module keep working and do not also fail because the current path is interrupted.

black tiger Solar Modules Now With 3 Instead of 2 Bypass Diodes

black tiger solar modules with 115, 120, 150 and 180 Wp are now wired in an even more thoughtful way and equipped with an additional bypass diode (so 3 instead of 2).

Even if your pitch is partly shaded by a tree – your system gets the optimum out of the parts of the module that are in the sun.

Technical Optimization for More Solar Power per Area

Our black tiger solar modules of course continue to come with all the technical optimizations already integrated before:

  • Larger usable light spectrum for solar yield in poor light conditions and even at dusk
  • Improved temperature coefficient for up to 25% more output in heat
  • Special formats for the best possible use of the available roof area, e.g. around roof windows, and shorter side lengths for lower susceptibility to failure from vibration
  • Full-surface copper contact layer for maximum reliability
  • Elegant black anodized frame and matching black mounting corners and cable entry glands
