FAQ on the texdev GmbH safety recall
Yes. All Convertiger 100 devices are precautionarily affected by the recall, even if the item number on your invoice differs from the number stated in the recall notice.
Why do the item numbers differ?
In the case of product recalls, the manufacturer is legally required to specify the manufacturer’s item number. This is necessary because retailers often use their own item numbers or sell products as part of bundles.
The item number stated in the recall notice is therefore the manufacturer’s item number. It can usually be found on the packaging or on the product itself.
Why can the item number on my invoice be different?
Different item numbers on invoices are normal, for example if:
- the Convertiger 100 was sold by a retailer using their own numbering system, or
- the device was purchased as part of a bundle (e.g. with different frames or sets).
What does this mean in practice?
Regardless of the item number stated on the invoice, the following applies:
Every Convertiger 100 device is affected by the recall and must be taken out of operation immediately or disconnected from the power supply.
Further handling will be carried out via the retailer from whom the product was purchased. They will contact you with the next steps.
Further information will follow as soon as possible, but no later than 31 January.
We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and patience.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
As a retailer, we are positioned every day between manufacturers, partners, and our customers.
We sell products—and we stand behind them with our name.
That is precisely why it is important to us to explain openly why a recall is the right step, even when many devices appear to function completely without issues.
Product safety does not mean reacting only once damage becomes publicly visible.
It means taking risks seriously before they escalate.
If a risk cannot be ruled out with certainty and the potential extent of damage is high,
waiting is not a responsible option.
Legal requirements oblige manufacturers to name the theoretical worst-case scenario.
Terms such as fire hazard therefore describe the maximum possible risk—not everyday operation.
A recall is unpleasant for everyone.
It costs time, money, and nerves—for us as a retailer as well.
Nevertheless, we believe this step is the right one.
It protects customers, relieves partners, and prevents greater damage.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
First and foremost: All Convertiger 100 devices are precautionarily affected and must be taken out of operation immediately.
The further procedure is currently being worked on with high priority.
The retailer from whom you purchased the product will contact you directly shortly and discuss the next steps with you.
The concrete organization will take some time. We therefore ask for a little more patience.
Further information will follow no later than 31 January 2026.
Thank you for your patience, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
Retailers use the contact details that were provided when the device was ordered to inform customers.
Please first check whether the email address used is correct and also review your spam or junk folder.
If your contact details have changed since the purchase, or if you are unsure, we recommend proactively contacting your retailer and informing them of your current contact details.
Please understand that organising a recall of this kind, involving many parties, is a complex process, and that contacting customers and providing further updates may take some time.
You should receive concrete information on the next steps no later than 31 January.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We fully understand that the precautionary recall of the Convertiger 100 is associated with significant inconvenience and uncertainty for many affected customers.
It is important to us to communicate openly and realistically:
The recall is being carried out for reasons of product safety. At present, no replacement units are available. Based on the current situation, short-term availability is not to be expected, and a waiting period of several weeks must therefore be assumed.
At this time, we are unable to offer preferential or accelerated individual handling, even though we can very well understand the circumstances described on a personal level. Individual prioritisation is currently not possible from an organisational standpoint and would also conflict with the principle of fair and equal treatment of all affected customers.
The manufacturer is currently working at full speed to clarify the supply chain as well as the specific replacement and processing logistics. As soon as a reliable timeline is available, we will communicate it proactively. No later than 31 January, we will provide an update on the current status and the planned next steps.
Until then, we ask you to keep the Convertiger 100 disconnected from power and not to operate it. Even though this situation is very unpleasant, taking the unit out of service is in the interest of your own safety.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this challenging situation for everyone involved.
In general, we would like to put the following into context:
Noticeable warming of the device can occur during normal operation and depends on the power output currently being delivered. The Convertiger 100 is designed for such operating temperatures, even if the unit may feel warmer to the touch than one might subjectively expect.
Based on our current knowledge, functional failures or a complete loss of functionality are not among the typical indicators on which the current recall is based. The vast majority of affected devices continue to operate normally.
The precautionary recall is not based on a clearly identifiable, reproducible malfunction during operation, but rather on a risk assessment in which a specific scenario cannot be reliably ruled out.
At present, it is not possible to clearly attribute individual symptoms to a specific root cause. In particular, observed effects such as temperature behaviour, communication issues, or sporadic irregularities cannot be reliably assigned to a defined fault pattern.
Regardless of the above:
Please do not continue to operate the Convertiger 100 as part of the recall and keep it disconnected from power until further steps are announced.
Thank you for your understanding and your patience.
